While the differences are not that big, it can be interesting to see how the 1-inch and 2-inch sleeve EZ curl bars vary in dimensions.
What are the dimensions of 2-inch EZ curl bars?
2-inch EZ curl bars will generally be the most popular since weight plates tend to have this inner diameter these days.
The handle/shaft diameter of 2 inch EZ curl bars tends to be between 1″ and 1.1″ (2.54 cm to 2.8 cm) thick.
One tiny exception to this is the Lionscool EZ curl bar with a diameter of 0.98″ (2.49 cm).
When it comes to handle/shaft length most options are 33″ (83.8 cm) or extremely close to that.
Again, Lionscool is a tiny amount shorter at 31.3″ (79.5 cm).
On the other hand, there is the PEXMOR EZ curl bar with a slightly longer shaft of 34″ (10.16 cm).
Next, the total length of 2-inch EZ curl bars tends to be around 47.25″ (120 cm).
Of the 2-inch EZ curl bars we looked at for this article, none of them deviated from this by more than 1″ (2.54 cm).
In terms of sleeve length, how much room the bar has for extra weight plates, there are some noticeable differences.
The average sleeve length of 2-inch EZ curl bars tends to be around 6.7″ (17 cm) on each side.
However, this can be as high as for example 7.5″ (19.05 cm) on each side with the CAP Barbell Olympic EZ Curl Bar.
You also have EZ curl bars with sleeves as small as 6″ (15.24 cm) on each side like the Goplus and PEXMOR models.
A difference of 1.5″ (3.81 cm) does not sound that much but 25% more room for weight plates can make the difference for some people.
Lastly, the angles and design of the curls of the bar are hard to quantify. Ideally, you would test out a brand before buying it but this is not always possible.
Even so, you can also make a decision by looking at the product pictures.
What are the dimensions of 1-inch EZ curl bars?
1-inch EZ curl bars can be good if you already have this size of weight plates or just prefer this size.
In terms of the shaft/handle diameter of these types of bars, brands are not always the most precise.
A diameter of about 0.98″ (2.5 cm) is relatively standard for a 1-inch EZ curl bar.
Similarly, shaft/handle length is often not specified. Again, a general dimension you can expect is a 31″ (78.74 cm) shaft length for a 1-inch EZ curl bar.
The total length of the 1-inch curl bars is better described. Most of the 1-inch curl bars we looked at, barely deviated from a total length of 47″ (119.38 cm).
Contrary to their 2-inch counterparts, different 1-inch curl bars only have small variations in terms of sleeve length aka the area where you can put weight plates.
The average sleeve length of 1-inch curl bars is around 7″ (17.78 cm).
Lastly, the curls in the 1-inch EZ curl bars are again hard to put into numbers.
