You only have to take one look at strongman log press bars to see their dimensions are different from a regular barbell.
The first thing to note regarding this is that in professional strongman competitions, the log is often custom-made.
This often means different dimensions in different places.
That being said, there are also a variety of more standard strongman log bars you can buy online.
The average length of the 16 strongman log bars I looked at was 73.21″ (186 cm). This includes the average sleeve length of 13.04″ (33.12 cm).
A typical aspect of strongman log press bars is the neutral handles.
In the models we looked at these were on average 24.07″ (61.14 cm) apart and had an average diameter of 34.53 mm (1.36 inches).
Strongman log bars typically come in 3 diameters, 8″, 10″, and 12″ (20.3 cm, 25.4 cm, and 30.5 cm). The dimensions above are the averages for all these diameters together.
The rest of this article also looks at each of these diameter categories and the individual models in them separately.
Dimensions of strongman log press bars
You don’t have to know the exact number of inches to get the strongman log press benefits.
At the same time, knowing the dimensions of strongman log press bars helps you find out what you can expect from the bars and/or make your own.
To get more precise than the general averages above, you can find the dimension details for the three diameter categories below.
8″ diameter strongman log bar dimensions
8″ diameter strongman log bars also tend to be the smallest in other dimensions.

That aside, the length of 8″ diameter log bars on this list is between 70″ to 72.5″ (177.8 cm to 184.2 cm). Their average length is 70.88″ (180 cm).
These total lengths include sleeves to hold the weight plates. Most of these tend to be between 13.5″ to 14″ (34.3 cm to 35.6 cm) long on each side.
